Lux Labz was founded in 2024 by Joe Zapp and Dan Torzala, building on years of experience working directly with students at Our Lady of Sorrows Academy in Phoenix, Arizona, starting in 2017. Our work with the academy gave us firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities students face in STEM education.

Over the years, we’ve developed hands-on projects and learning exercises that make STEM concepts accessible and engaging for students of all backgrounds. Lux Labz continues that mission, combining practical experience with a deep understanding of what helps students succeed in science, technology, engineering, and math.

By grounding our work in years of classroom and mentorship experience, we focus on creating meaningful learning opportunities that reflect the real needs of students and educators.
